flag.pngApplicants for a life, disability, property, casualty or personal lines producer license must meet prelicense education (PLE) requirements prior to sitting for the license examination.  Candidates must complete an approved course of study consisting of 20 hours of live instruction or self-study instruction for each line of insurance for which an exam is being taken. The twenty hours includes training on WA laws and rules specific to that line. For example, if a candidate wants a property and casualty license, they would need to complete 40 hours of prelicense education (20 for property, 20 for casualty).  PLE requirements for a personal lines license is 20 hours.
