About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic, Commercial Lines Department Manager to help us continue to improve and innovate our operations. This position will assess current team activities and champion change to improve experience for commercial agents. This is a joint leadership/production role.  This role will develop & lead a team of 10 while ensuring production goals are achieved.

 

Responsibilities

·         Demonstrates thorough understanding of agency/broker operations and structure that will maximize profitable growth
·         Responsible for underwriting integrity and compliance with carrier and state requirements
·         Big picture understanding of the business and priorities
·         Manages relationships with carrier and agents
·         Technical understanding of property and casualty insurance products in the small & mid market segments
·         Responsible for retention, developing, and hiring commercial underwriting team members
·         Ability to identify, lead, and communicate changes well to team and company
·         Fosters an environment of continuous improvement and team work
·         This role has some production responsibilities
 

Required Qualifications

·         Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
·         Insurance designation( CPCU, CIC, or similar)
·         5-10 years increasing experience in Commercial Underwriting
·         Experience in E&S Market a plus
·         Minimum 3 years' experience leading a team
·         Strong agency management skills and ability to drive profitable growth through agency partnerships and helping agents successfully grow their business.
·         Excellent time management skills and project management skills
·         Possess a “Can do"  attitude and team player
·         Dedication to providing excellent customer service
·         Ability to establish and build effective working relations and partnerships with internal partners, clients, and vendors​

QUALIFICATIONS:  Service an existing book of business to include conducting account reviews, marketing new policies and making necessary policy changes.  Must have a good understanding of company underwriting rules, personal insurance coverages and the ability to complete applications and enter data into our agency management system.  Cross sell other products offered by the agency or credit union. Must possess strong customer service and organizational skills.  A minimum of 18 months as a Personal Lines Account Manager or two years in a related position within the insurance industry is required.  Must possess a Property/Casualty license and an Insurance designation is preferred. High school graduate or equivalent.
