Griffin Underwriting Services, founded in 1928, is a
Family-Owned insurance agency located in beautiful, downtown Bellevue. At

The Associate Broker will be part of a production team
catering to agents looking for commercial insurance solutions. More specifically, the Associate Broker will
review, market and price expiring policies while managing overall book
retention and growing revenue to defined targets. Additionally, they will support Brokers in
servicing quotes and new business submissions.
Review and update coverage needs of expiring
policies, pursuing current exposures and rating information. Identify cross
sell opportunities for a complete account proposal.
Productively partner with retail agents to
identify viable and customized insurance solutions to manage the insured’s
risks and exposures.
Develop proposals, remarketing accounts as
needed, that address current coverage needs while conforming to carrier
guidelines and compliance requirements.
Present proposals to brokerage markets and negotiate terms.
Underwrite and service midterm changes and
developments on inforce book.
Lend support to Brokers as needed in servicing
quotes and new business.
Efficiently progress the work to customers’
expectations, identifying problems early and mitigating their impact.
Responsibly adheres to regulatory requirements
and internal policies and driving principles
Role Qualifications and Skills
Minimum 1-3 year’s commercial experience, wholesale
brokerage experience preferred
Demonstrated working knowledge of property and
casualty commercial insurance products and related coverages: general
liability, property, professional
Exceptional communication skills, written and
verbal, ensuring professional and customer-focused interactions with agents and
Strong attention to detail and organized work
practices, enabling efficiency and good time management
Embraces change, and initiates by identifying
opportunities to execute more effectively.
Strong technology skills and learning agility
for current and future applications

Who are you?
- You are
a property and casualty licensed dedicated insurance professional with at
least five years of industry experience, and at least three years in a
Commercial Account Manager role. Work in an independent
agency/brokerage is strongly preferred.
- You are
an extremely positive and customer focused problem solver. You can
give us several examples of how you have worked with customers to solve
their problems, put them at ease, and make sure they are “customers for
enjoy working with your team-mates and you are extremely
collaborative. You are a proactive communicator and even a bit of a
“coverage geek”. You enjoy explaining insurance in such a way that
it becomes valuable and insightful for your customer.
- You are
an industry professional who enjoys growth and challenges. You have
the energy and confidence to work in a start-up type environment.
